Our Assembly

On Friday Room 5, Room 4 and Room 13 hosted assembly. We decided to do a safe Christmas theme as we have learned a lot this year about keeping safe. It was mufti day so we dressed in Christmas colours. Some of us got to go on stage as elves and reindeer. We loved singing songs and sitting on stage. We did a fabulous job!

Car Safety

We have been learning how to keep ourselves safe in the car. We learned that we need to be 148cm tall before we don't need a car seat anymore. We measured ourselves to see if we were tall enough and we all have some growing to do!

Bruce Potter Visit

We were lucky enough to have author and illustrator Bruce Potter come to Sunnybrae. He read us some of his stories and we got to help out and join in. They were very funny! At the end he showed us how he does the illustrations.

The Big Sad Wolf

Today we watched a play called The Big Sad Wolf. It was about the Big Bad Wolf who wasn't actually so bad after all. It was very funny. Here is a short clip from the show of the wolf accidentally blowing down Little Pig's house...

Week 6 Writing Super Star!

This week Zac was our writing super star. He wrote a fantastic narrative. 

New Faces

We had two new children start in Room 5 this week. Welcome Harira and Sam! 

Tinder Box Toys

As part of our unit on Recreational Pastimes, we have a visit from the Toy Man. He showed us lots of old toys that were hand crafted. We learned about the toys our great-great-grandparents would have played with. It was very exciting and the best part was playing with the toys! 

Week 4 Writing Superstar

This week Indiana is our writing superstar. She worked really hard on her narrative this week and she stood up at assembly and read it. Great work Indiana!

Week 3 Writing Superstar

This week Jesse was our writing superstar. He wrote a great narrative and a fabulous description. Jesse used words he knew and wrote down the sounds he could hear. Great work Jesse!
